This was our 8th year donating to
the knitted scarf and hat drive at St. Anthony's in San Francisco. Eight of us
brought in 83 knitted hats and 45 knitted scarves to donate to the
homeless, making a total of 128 pieces. We were also taken on a tour of
the dining room (thank you Andrew) and clothes store (thank you David). We treated ourselves to lunch after our
drop-off and had a lot of fun knowing we were doing our part in helping keep
the homeless warm during these cold winter months.
Hello, and welcome to karingknitters. We are a collective of gals who love to knit and love to help others. We are always in search for a good cause to which we can donate hand knit hats, scarves, etc

Castro Valley karing knitters donated 100 scarves and hats
Our Castro Valley karing knitters
donated 100 scarves and
hats to low income families in Hayward. It was fun to see them “shop” for their
perfect choice and then wear it as they picked up their food donations. These
should help keep them warm during these cold days.Monday, December 3, 2018
A few announcements to catch up on:
It has been awhile, we have a few announcements to catch up on:
While our group was knitting in a local cafe, a young
security guard stopped by and we told him about our charity knitting. His eyes
lit up and he asked if we had any adult hats for him. We gave him one and we
could tell that he’d wear it and cherish it! He was so grateful and
appreciative!
Two members of the knitting group knitted/crocheted 8
beautiful hat and scarf sets for Youth Homes Foster kids! They loved them and
had fun deciding which set looked best on them. Thank you on behalf of the
foster girls!!
One of our very talented knitter/crocheter made 12
snowman hats for Kaiser Maternity. These are definitely keepsakes for the
infants. They were delivered along with 13 Chanukah hats and 7 general hats on
December 3, 2018.

Forty adult hats were given to one of the members on
November 20, 2018 to distribute to Cherryland families in Hayward at
Christmastime. We’re sure that the recipients will love them!!

Halloween Delivery
hats and 40 general baby hats to Kaiser Walnut Creek on 10/27/18. The nurses couldn’t wait to distribute the hats to the newborns. We offered a hat to a new grandmother to be, her daughter was in delivery as we spoke, and she was thrilled to select a Pumpkin hat.

And more baby hats...
Sixty-five baby hats and ten headbands
were delivered on 9/15 to
Kaiser Walnut Creek Maternity Ward. The nurses were thrilled as usual to
receive the beautiful donation and three of them quickly took two boy and one
girl hat to babies who had just been delivered. They again emphasized how
much the new parents LOVE the hats and how appreciative they are to us.
Thank you Karing Knitters!

Introducing....
The Castro Valley "branch" of the Karing Knitters
These knitters meet 2x month in Castro Valley at Cafe 4. They
enjoy the beautiful space while knitting for charity. Some of them knit
and some of them loom. Either way, they contribute to the many needs in the
community.
