Peggy delivered 52 baby hats on Valentine's Day, 2018. Two of the nurses immediately selected two pink Valentine Day hats for the newborn girls who had just been delivered. The nurses were as always, so thankful for our donations.

Thank you, Jan, Barbara(s), Nicole, and Peggy for knitting/crocheting/looming 11 Preemie hats for Jerilyn's grandson who was born at 28 weeks and weighed in at 2.2 pounds. He's at the UCSF NICU and will probably stay there for 7 more weeks. We thought the hats would be fun for the babies. The red hats could be used for a Valentine's Day party.

On January 2, 2017, Ann, one of the Karing Knitters, told us the sad news that her friend was going to have to undergo chemo and asked if we would be interested in donating chemo hats. We gave her 3 to take to the oncology center and may knit more in the future.
AWC members Mary Ann, and Sandi who also contribute to the Karing Knitters' charities, knitted baby hats for the Kempel quintuplets, 3 boys and 2 girls born at Kaiser Walnut Creek on 1/11/18. We also donated two larger hats for the older sisters, 18 months, and 3 years old.
We also donated an additional 32 general baby hats to some very happy maternity nurses.

Knitters, Rita, Harriet and Barbara delivered 75 hats and scarves made by Karing Knitters from both San Ramon and Castro Valley groups to recipients of a food pantry in Hayward. They were delighted to meet the people and see them choose a knitted hat or scarf. It made the delivery personal on both sides. Special thanks to Alex Chun for her contribution of a lovely scarf.

Peggy delivered 71 baby hats (46 general, 16 Xmas, 9 Chanukah) to Kaiser Walnut Creek on 11/20/17. This was particularly fun since she met two very excited grandparents who were just on their way to meet their new grandson. Peggy had them select a hat for the newborn. They were most appreciative.
The nurses were also elated to receive more hats and said they would display some immediately and one stated this was her favorite part of her job!
Thank you for all of your donations!
