Such a busy time of year for everyone so Peggy delivered the 19 Christmas, 2 Chanukah, and 40 general hats alone on 12/23 to some very appreciative nurses at Kaiser Walnut Creek.  They reiterated how thoughtful our group is to donate hats.  We are the only ladies who knit hats for Walnut Creek Maternity. They were also pleased that two of the hats were designated for Chanukah since two Jewish babies were born last night.  Also, welcome Melanie,  a new "silent" member of our knitting group.  She loomed several hats for both St. Anthony's and baby hats just now.  Melanie travels a lot so you may not meet her anytime soon but we thank her so much for her contributions!

St Anthony'd delivery

Karing Knitters, Peggy, Harriet, Barbara, and Ann delivered a total of 86 scarves and hats (37 scarves and 49 hats) to St. Anthony's for the Homeless in San Francisco on 12/18/14.  The organizer was very pleased to receive the donations and we told her that we have donated every year since the program started 5 years ago.  She showed us the area (in their new building across the street from the former site) where the donations are sorted and combined with toiletries and a touching Christmas note written by volunteers to give to the homeless on Christmas Day.
