Holiday Hat Delivery
Peggy delivered 71 baby hats (46 general, 16 Xmas, 9
Chanukah) to Kaiser Walnut Creek on 11/20/17. This was particularly fun since
she met two very excited grandparents who were just on their way to meet their
new grandson. Peggy had them select a hat for the newborn. They were most
appreciative.
The nurses were also elated to receive more hats and said
they would display some immediately and one stated this was her favorite part
of her job!
Thank you for all of your donations!
more hats from Montana
Much to our surprise, we received
13 more knitted baby
hats from Sandy in Billings, Montana!! These will be perfect for
the holiday season.

We've gone international
On 10/2/17 the Karing Knitters
were knitting and a mother
from England who was visiting her daughter stopped to see what we were
knitting. This woman has 11 grandchildren with two more on the way. Jan
(center) immediately gave her two of the crocheted hats she had just finished
to give to the newborns. The woman was thrilled and now we can say that our
hats are enjoyed internationally!! Wednesday, September 27, 2017

More baby hats
Peggy delivered 15 baby hats to Kaiser Walnut Creek on August 2,
2017. She wanted to make sure that the two watermelon themed hats arrived
on time for National Watermelon Day which is on August 3rd. The nurses
thought that was such as cute idea and LOVED all of the hats we donated.
Two of the nurses had just come out of delivery rooms and immediately
searched for two baby girl hats.

4th of July delivery
Peggy delivered a total of 64 baby hats to Kaiser Walnut Creek and
Antioch Kaiser on July 2nd, 2017, of which 37 were 4th of July themed and
27 were general baby hats.
Special thanks go to Martha for knitting 25 of the 4th of July
hats...so cute and creatively embellished! The nurses loved them and
immediately began choosing some for the newborn babies.
One of the nurses will take 12 hats to Antioch Kaiser.
Thank you Karing Knitters for your donations!!

Kaiser Hat Delivery
Peggy, one of the knitters, delivered 50 baby hats to Kaiser
Walnut Creek on Sunday, June 4, 2017. She met one of the newer nurses who
was elated by the donations and told her how appreciative the patients were
with the baby hats. Of course, 50 baby hats only last 5 days as there are
at least 10 babies born daily at Kaiser Maternity. Our group cannot keep
up with the demand.
Thank you Karing Knitters for all of your baby hat contributions
and for adding so much joy to the patients.

Perfect timing
One
of our knitters, Barbara, had a chance meet-up with a former colleague. She was
introduced to her 2 week old newborn baby girl at the place we meet to knit.
Barbara had just finished knitting this purple hat. She gave it to her friend
who immediately put it on her baby. She later sent a picture of the little girl
wearing the hat in a newborn photo shoot!

Easter Delivery
Peggy delivered 88 hats to Kaiser Walnut Creek (20 of which
will be donated to Kaiser Antioch). The nurses were "jumping with
joy" when they discovered that the Easter born babies plus the rest
of the babies born this week would have an adorable hat to wear. One of
the nurses immediately dug through the bag of donations and retrieved 5 of them
to display at the nurses' counter.
Thank you Karing Knitters for your ongoing contributions!

Another Hat Delivery
Peggy, one of the Karing Knitters, delivered 78 hats to
Kaiser Walnut Creek on February 23rd. As
usual the nurses were thrilled to receive them. The KK group decided since the Antioch nurses appreciated the baby hats that were
delivered to them last month so much, that we would give them more hats in the
future. Of the 78 hats that we delivered today, Antioch received 25. Since
March is St. Patrick's Day, Jan made some beautiful themed hats to include in
this delivery. We know that all of the newborns will appreciate and enjoy the
hats.

Peggy delivered 18 Valentine ♥ themed hats and 25 general
hats to Kaiser Walnut Creek on February 1, 2017. The nurses were overly excited
because they had run out of hats to give to the babies quite a while ago. They
absolutely loved that there were some Valentine ♥ themed hats and told me that
they would go to good use. Thank you Karing Knitters for your generous contributions. The nurses reiterated that the
patients love the hats that we make.

New grandson for Barbara and hats for Kaiser Antioch
Barbara's daughter just delivered a baby at Kaiser Antioch on
1/30/17. Peggy, Barbara's sister and proud "Grauntie", suggested to
her that we donate some of the baby hats we've knitted/loomed and she agreed
that it was a great idea. We donated 25 hats, 13 of which were Valentine
themed and the rest were general hats. The nurses were thrilled because
they receive very few hat donations. Antioch Kaiser delivers 125-135
babies monthly while Kaiser Walnut Creek delivers 350 babies monthly...big
difference! Also, pictured below is baby Dax and older brother Blake wearing
matching hats knitted by Auntie Peggy
