Kaiser Delivery for Fall

Peggy delivered 113 baby hats to
Kaiser Walnut Creek on 9/23/17 with 20 designated for Antioch, Kaiser. They were for  Halloween, Fall and several were for multiple births. The nurses were elated when the hats arrived since they had run out. They had just delivered two sets of twins so were happy we made some duplicate hats.

Thank you Karing Knitters for your contributions!

Happy Birthday to Us

In the seven years we have been in existence our Karing Knitters group has produced and donated a grand total of 2914 hats and 592 scarves. Happy Birthday to us. Let's keep up the good work.

The Purple Project

The Karing Knitters just knitted/crocheted  25 purple baby hats which will be mailed to the Oklahoma Click Campaign to help bring awareness to the Period of Purple Crying (uncontrollable crying for no reason) to prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome. The hats will be distributed to families with information about the PURPLE Program.

More baby hats

Peggy delivered 15 baby hats to Kaiser Walnut Creek on August 2, 2017.  She wanted to make sure that the two watermelon themed hats arrived on time for National Watermelon Day which is on August 3rd.  The nurses thought that was such as cute idea and LOVED all of the hats we donated.  Two of the nurses had just come out of delivery rooms and immediately searched for two baby girl hats.

4th of July delivery

Peggy delivered a total of 64 baby hats to Kaiser Walnut Creek and Antioch Kaiser on July 2nd, 2017, of which 37 were 4th of July themed and 27 were general baby hats.
Special thanks go to Martha for knitting 25 of the 4th of July hats...so cute and creatively embellished! The nurses loved them and immediately began choosing some for the newborn babies.
One of the nurses will take 12 hats to Antioch Kaiser.
Thank you Karing Knitters for your donations!!

Kaiser Hat Delivery

Peggy, one of the knitters, delivered 50 baby hats to Kaiser Walnut Creek on Sunday, June 4, 2017.  She met one of the newer nurses who was elated by the donations and told her how appreciative the patients were with the baby hats.  Of course, 50 baby hats only last 5 days as there are at least 10 babies born daily at Kaiser Maternity.  Our group cannot keep up with the demand.

Thank you Karing Knitters for all of your baby hat contributions and for adding so much joy to the patients.

Perfect timing

One of our knitters, Barbara, had a chance meet-up with a former colleague. She was introduced to her 2 week old newborn baby girl at the place we meet to knit. Barbara had just finished knitting this purple hat. She gave it to her friend who immediately put it on her baby. She later sent a picture of the little girl wearing the hat in a newborn photo shoot!
