World Travelers

World travelers that we are (giggle), we can never pass up an interesting yarn shop:

from Dunedin, New Zealand

from Queenstown, New Zealand

from the open air market in Puerto Montt, Chile

from Punta Arenas, Chile

from Montevideo, Uruguay

from Port Stanley, Faukland Islands

from Santos, Brazil

from Ushuaia, Argentina

Traveling is so much fun - and yarn shopping is even more fun.

for St Patrick's Day

The Karing Knitters delivered 23 hats (10 of which were green and white) to the Maternity Ward on March 16th, just in time for St. Patrick's Day.  One of the nurses said, "Now I can't pinch the St. Patty's babies since they'll be wearing green for St. Patrick's Day"...LOL.  The nurses were busy with their duties but very thankful for the delivery.

Another happy delivery

On Feb. 14th (Valentine's Day) we were able to deliver over 100 hats to Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek.
Some went to chemo... including two we were able to give directly to patients. Here is Knitter Peggy, posing with one of the happy recipients.
Some went to the maternity for Valentine babies.
And one proud dad spotted us and picked out a cap for his newborn son.

Thanks

Our turn to say thanks....
Many thanks to our anonymous donor. Your generous contribution of yarn will keep us all busy for a long time.

Hats to Youth Homes

Shown here is our fearless leader - Peggy, holding a "Thank You" banner signed by some recipients of our handmade hats. Peggy is Alamo Women's Club's liaison to four Youth Homes in our area.

We made/delivered twenty-seven hats to four of the homes and gave three to foster kids.

With a little help from our friends, plus lots of coffee and pleasant chat, we were able to deliver 70 scarves and 43 hats to St Anthony's for distribution along with Christmas dinner.

Only 4 of our group were able to go on the delivery (and lunch) excersion..... to those of you who were not able to join us.....we missed you.
