Hello, and welcome to karingknitters. We are a collective of gals who love to knit and love to help others. We are always in search for a good cause to which we can donate hand knit hats, scarves, etc

We collectively made 60 baby hats, 9 of which
are Halloween themed, for the new babies at Kaiser Walnut Creek. Peggy
delivered the hats on Oct. 27th, just in time for Halloween. As usual, the
nurses were very appreciative when she brought
them the donation. Four of the nurses immediately selected hats for the
babies who were just delivered. Coincidentally, they chose one of each of
the hats we made..so fun! The nurses again said how appreciative they are
of our donations and that we are the only group who donates to them. They
said that the new Moms LOVE the hats.

Youth Homes, the agency that I volunteer for, will receive a $1,000 check

Pre-Easter delivery
Jan, Barbie, and Peggy delivered a total of 96
hats to Kaiser on 4/15/14, (71 baby and 25 chemo hats). The three of us
took turns modeling the chemo hats. Barbara, a Chemo Staff member was
very grateful for the hats since they receive so few donations. She
said that the ladies would have a great time selecting their favorite colors
from our donation.
The Maternity Nurses were equally excited about
the large donation since they only had 1 St. Patrick's Day hat left over from
our last donation. One of the nurses said that the Mom's often keep our
hats as keepsakes from Kaiser. We donated several Easter hats which the
nurses are displaying in the picture.
